MSG (Retired) Charles H.
Crisel (April 30, 1948 - December 9, 2024)
MSG (Retired) Charles H. Crisel,
76, of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024. Born on
April 30, 1948, in Cushing, Oklahoma, he was the son of Raymond and Mary
(Carpenter) Crisel.
Charles graduated from Cushing
High School in 1966 and began a distinguished military career in the United
States Army in 1967. He served his country with honor for 24 years, retiring in
1991 at the rank of Master Sergeant. His dedicated service earned him numerous
awards, including the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army
Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal
w/Service Star, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal-8 and the
Humanitarian Service Medal-Cuban. Charles also served during the Vietnam War,
receiving the Vietnam Service Medal with Four Bronze Service Stars, the Vietnam
Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry Unit Citation with Palm.
Following his military
retirement, Charles continued his commitment to service as a civil servant on
Fort Sill, Oklahoma, from 1991 until 2007 retiring as the Freight Branch
Supervisor.
Charles is survived by his four
children, Patrick E. Crisel, Anthony D. Crisel and Patricia, Kevin L. Crisel
and Steven M. Crisel and wife Shannon; 25 grandchildren, Karl Crisel, Charles
Crisel, Ayla Crisel, Rachel Crisel, Anthony Crisel, Aaron Crisel, Koti
Donaldson, Alysia Roane, Cody Franklin, Kadie Franklin, Lily Franklin, Jessica
Ward-Crisel, Casey Ward-Crisel, Jonathan Ward-Crisel, Mary Pollard, Linda
Crisel, Trystan Crisel, Xariah Crisel, Korbin Crisel, Tymara Crisel, Jaxyn
Crisel, Karsen Crisel, Nicholas Crisel, Jayden Mifflin and Zackery Mifflin.
He is preceded in death by his
parents, Raymond and Mary Crisel, wife Linda J. Crisel, and two sons, David A.
Crisel and Eric J. Crisel.
He was also involved with MUFON. Mindi Tautfest, past state director of
Oklahoma MUFON had this to say: “…Charles Crisel passed away this week. He was
a long time FI here in Oklahoma and my first partner in MUFON…I will miss our
investigation road trips and deep talks. You were the best!”
SERVICE was held Monday, December
16, 2024/ 10:00 AM /Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel, Lawton, Oklahoma.
